The vinegar dampens the pungent onion flavor and the icing sugar compensates for the excess acidity. The apple note will make the onion taste more noble. Also, the combination of the sour and sweet flavor helps to increase the appetite.
Mix apple cider vinegar with icing sugar in a 2:1 ratio, in favor of vinegar.
Cut the white onion into half rings. Place in a bowl and add the marinade. Leave for 2-3 minutes. Use as a side dish for grilled meat or as an ingredient in salads.
Cabbage and carrot salad with vinegar dressing
The salad can be served as a standalone dish or used to make shawarma.
200 g red cabbage
100 g Korean-style carrots
30 ml apple cider vinegar
Shred the cabbage so that the pieces are equal in length to the carrots.
Mix the cabbage and carrots and dress with vinegar.
