An apple can be replaced by a pear in this salad.

3 small sweet and sour apples
6 celery stalks
300 g lettuce leaves (lettuce)
30 g walnuts
half lemon juice
2 tbsp homemade mayonnaise
salt, freshly ground black pepper
1. Trim the stiff base of the celery stalks and cut the stalks into thin slices.
2. Roast the walnuts in a preheated 160°C oven until they emit a strong nutty aroma, 10 minutes. Then cool the walnuts and chop coarsely.
3 Peel the apples, remove the core and cut the flesh into medium cubes. Drizzle with lemon juice straight away to prevent the apples from turning brown.
4. Mix the apples and celery with the mayonnaise and season with salt and pepper.
5. Place the salad leaves in a bowl, top with the apples and celery, sprinkle over the walnuts and serve.
