Pepperoni Pizza

Pepperoni pizza gets its name from the pepperoni sausage. Pepperoni and mozzarella pizza is a great option for a hearty snack for a cold day.

Ingredients

120g mozzarella for pizza

pepperoni – 40 g

Freshly ground pepper to taste

For the dough:

pressed yeast – 5 g

water – 300 ml

wheat flour – 400 g

For tomato sauce:

tomatoes – 150 g

onion – ½ piece

garlic – 1 clove

olive oil – 30 g

salt – 10 g

pepper to taste

dried basil – 5 g

Step by step recipe

Step 1

Dissolve the yeast in water and add to the flour.

Step 2.

Knead in the dough and allow it to rest for 2 hours.

Step 3

Put the tomatoes in boiling water for 10-15 seconds. Take them out, peel off the skin, cut into pieces, put into a blender and chop until smooth.

Step 4

Finely chop the onion and garlic and sauté in olive oil for 2-3 minutes. Add the tomatoes and stew over a medium heat until the liquid has evaporated.

Step 5.

Season with salt and pepper, add basil and leave the sauce to cool.

Step 6

Roll out the pastry to 30 cm in diameter.

Step 7

Spread the cooled tomato sauce onto the pizza base – spread over the entire surface.

Step 8

Cut the mozzarella into rounds and spread evenly on the pizza. Top with pepperoni sausage. Sprinkle it with pepperoni. Place in the oven for 7 minutes at 200°C.
