Prepare several sauces to choose from for the cheese sticks
4-6 servings, cooking time: 30 min.
What you need:
500 g semi-hard cheese (but not Parmesan!)
1 or 2 eggs
0,5 cup flour
1.5-2 cups of bread crumbs
oil for deep frying
Favorite sauces to serve
What to do:
1. Slice the cheese into thick, finger-length slices. Heat the frying oil over medium heat. Lay paper towels in several layers next to the frying pan.
2. In one bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth. Pour flour into another bowl, and breadcrumbs into a third.
Roll cheese in flour and shake off excess. Transfer it to the egg, roll it and take out, allowing the excess to drain. Then roll in breadcrumbs.
4. Fry the cheese sticks in oil until crispy on all sides. Remove very gently with long tongs or a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite sauce.
