Sea Buckthorn Grog

Ingredients

220 ml of dark rum

150g sea buckthorn berries

3 tsp green tea brew

100g blossom honey

800 ml of drinking water

1-2 cinnamon sticks

1 lemon or orange to serve

Step by step recipe

Step 1.

Wash and dry the sea buckthorn. Put the berries into the glass of an immersion blender and chop into a coarse purée.

Step 2

Pour 150 ml of boiling water over the green tea and leave to infuse for 5 minutes. Combine the brewed tea with the sea buckthorn mixture, pour in the remaining water and rum, add the cinnamon and bring to the boil. Remove from heat, add honey and stir.

Step 3

Pour the grog into glasses and garnish with a thin slice of lemon or orange. Serve the drink hot.

A Tip

Instead of cinnamon, you can make grog with cardamom or badjan.
