Potato Fritters With Cheese And Ham

Ingredients

pinch of dried thyme

potatoes – 700 g

egg – 1 pc.

chopped dill and parsley – 1 tbsp.

flour – 2 tablespoons

smoked cheese – 100 g

salt – to taste

ham – 100 g

vegetable oil – 4 tbsp.

large onions – 1 pc.

Prepare the batter for the potato fritters. Peel and shred the onion, and cut the cheese and ham into small cubes. Grate potatoes on a coarse grater, throw them in a colander and squeeze out the mass with a spoon.

Combine grated potatoes with flour, egg, onion, ham, cheese, and herbs. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix with a spoon or spatula. The pancake batter is ready.

Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Spoon out the batter and fry the fritters over medium heat, 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden. Add oil and cook the rest of the fritters.

Useful tip

Potato pancakes are even tastier if you use not boiled ham, but uncooked. A not too fatty bacon (also uncooked) will also work great.

Potato pancakes with cheese and ham can be served with well chilled thick sour cream, as well as with mushroom, cheese or garlic sauce.
